Niacin

Niacin is better known as Vitamin B3. This vitamin is needed to convert food into energy for the body to live on. In addition to that it does a multitude of things for the body. It keeps the red blood cells in abundance, keeps hormones, fatty acids and steroids all in check. It also helps maintain skin nerves and blood vessels, as well as support the gastrointestinal tract. It can also detoxify some drugs. Niacin is a vitamin (vitamin B3). It is found in a large and diverse amount of foods, both meat (such as beef and chicken) as well as in fruits and vegetables (such as mushrooms, corn, mangos and peaches)

Too little intake of this mineral is called a niacin deficiency. It can lead to an illness called Pellagra. Since niacin plays a key part in cell respiration, the illness is caused by a severe lack of it, and can disrupt and affect basic body operations from the cellular level. It can affect the gastrointestinal system as well as the nervous system
